Description
In the last years, DNA arrays have attractedincreasing attention among medical diagnosis andanalytical chemists. The broad range of applicationthat has been found for DNA arrays makes them animportant analytical tool. The main goal of this book is to broadly review theemerging technology of oligonucleotide basedbiosensors for DNA and protein detection, devotingspecial attention in target label freeelectrochemical biosensors. The first two chaptersexplore the technology behind oligonucleotide andaptamer based biosensors and review the state of theart of these devices. In next chapters, emphasis islaid on the experimental development of biosensors, ranging from bio-self assembled surfaces modificationto arrays microfabrication and from electrochemicaldetections to oligonucleotide label-conjugation.This book provides a useful tool for study thoroughlythis emerging field, giving to the reader not only awide biosensors overview, but also experimentalprotocols for the development of these devices. Thisbook should be specially useful for researchers inbiosensors, electrochemistry detection andbio-surface modification or anyone else interested onthis topic.
