Nanomaterials are important due to their unique properties that may lead to new and exciting applications. The current scenario of the application of nanotechnology in the field of corrosion prevention of metals was reviewed here. Recent research and developments in this area are discussed in designing efficient coating materials and alloys, which provide superior resistance to corrosion of steel.
